3. Matching puzzle pieces to Domino Cards.

The play situation becomes a test situation when the child matches the puzzle pieces to the very small pictures on the LEA Domino cards. Although she names the symbols she is asked to also match so that the test remains a play situation. It is easy to notice when the task becomes difficult.


"We have a picture on this card, this one.” (LH points briefly with finger; child places the “house” puzzle piece on the picture) “Now we have a smaller picture. Which picture is it?” – "Ball." “Which piece would you put on it?” (Child looks around and finds the “ball” piece.) “And here we have?” (Child places “apple” piece.) “At the other end (of the card) there is such a small picture. What is it?"- “House” (Child places the “house” piece.)
