Cover test at 14 months

At the age of 14 months this girl was found to have unequal refractive errors in her eyes, called anisometropia. Since it may cause amblyopia in the more hyperopic, longsighted eye, cover test was used to observe whether there would be any difference in her response to cover in front of the left versus the right eye. There was obvious difference, cover in front of the left eye does not disturb the child as much as in front of the right eye. Conclusion: the left eye seems to be a "lazy eye".
